Keith Rogers –

“I have great pleasure in telling you that Sycamore Adventure – DMBC have won the play award at the National Children and Young People Now Awards 2019. These awards, which are now in their 14th year, are firmly established as the “gold standard” in services for children, young people and families across the UK. They recognise innovation and impact across the entire spectrum of services and ages, and provide recognition and pride for teams who strive to improve outcomes for children and young people. I attended the award ceremony last night with 600 attendees and am thrilled to be bringing the award and certificate back to Dudley.

The Play Award is provided to the service that has done the most to offer children and young people the opportunities to play freely, enjoy childhood and contribute to their social, emotional and physical development. The judges looked for work that has enabled children to follow their own ideas and interests, in their own way. A team of 15 professionals shortlisted the nominees and a panel of 10 young people selected the winners.

Other shortlisted services in the Play Award included Sporting Communities CIC, Spurgeons, Gwealan Tops Adventure Playground and The Valley Project.

A huge thank you to every person who has been involved with and supported Sycamore Adventure Playground over the years”
